Playing with colors

I haven't played Holi in ages. But this time, I did play with colors on Holi .... though only on paper - I finished a watercolor I started last year, during the long weekend. It was "inspired" by a photograph of a painting I saw in the newspaper. The painting I made is about 34cmX24cm (the photograph about 6cmX4cm). Given such a small size, I sure took a long time to finish it!

Stage 1: The background.
I managed to splash a few drops of dark color, from which I couldn't recover till the end.

Stage 2: Long break.
This is around where I left it last year .... to hibernate for the winters :-)

Stage 3: Execution complete
Finally ... done ... finishing touches added ... ready to be framed.

I absolutely loved it !!
The sketch and the colours both. To me sketches look better.
Which color did you use for this ?

Sigma, why don't you consider this as your alternate line of business ? When you get bored of those bugs ?
I am serious.

@Backpakker : Thanks a lot!!

@Cuckoo: I used watercolors/poster-paints for this one ...
Alternate line of business ... ha ha ... I just might. The only thing is that it might not turn out to be as well paying as fixing those nasty bugs :-D

simply beautiful... i seriously feel, u should think of it as a profession on the side... and btw, art investment is on an all time high, now a days!

Ok, side business then. It's final ! :P

Earlier I used to read a blog where the painter was uploading her paintings for sale and whoever was interested could order a print of it (of course a good size and good paper). All transactions thru internet. I know there is nothing like the actual painting but something is better than nothing.
Now I have lost that URL, if I can find again, I'll give you for sure.

Kya khyaal hai ?

This made me laugh - the reason - I have one sketch which still needs a touching up....God only knows when I will finish touching up and get to frame....!

Just keep doing when you get time to do it....!!

Tk care ~
